The oil prices surged more than
3% as a huge wildfire in Alberta, Canada disrupted production in the oil-rich region.
The
wildfire near Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada, has grown five times
its initial size and spread south on Thursday, forcing more evacuations
after 88,000 people fled the city since Tuesday, May 3rd. Several
pipelines in the region have been shut as a precaution, and the output
at several facilities was interrupted, though the affected volumes are
yet unclear.
